Completed in November of 1891, this bridge crosses the Conestoga River in St Jacobs, Ontario. The purpose of the bridge was to enable easy travel between two neighboring towns, Elmira and Waterloo, but is no longer in use. You can find this bridge on a peaceful trail located behind the busy tourist town of St Jacobs. The town offers much historic value and unique shopping opportunities. I've visited this town since I was a little girl and have always loved this grand, rusting, structure. When I took this picture there was actually a couple atop it that were calling out across the river and I know many couples who've come here to get wedding photos taken. This bridge is a historic and beautiful asset to the community and I hope to visit it again soon..!

This reminds me of the train bridge in Lethbridge Alberta. Good image. Thanks for sharing.
