When you're hiking the Sierra Nevadas you never know what you'll come across but you're pretty sure to see a bear or two if you stay out long enough. This is probably the largest one we've seen this year; she was absolutely huge.

Thanks. She's was about 450 lbs. and that paw was as big as my head! We had a pretty close-up encounter that day.

Phenomenal capture!! Wow! We have a cabin in the Sierras off Hwy 49 in Sierra City. We see bears occasionally but I have yet to see one in a tree! Only in Sequoia National Park... :-) This is awesome...I love bears!
