Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured in cle elum, wa. The heart of the cascade mountains at a well hidden but popularly visited Lake Cle Elum. The lake is often used for planes and helicopters to retrieve water to fight nearby wildfires.

Time

This was captured early to mid afternoon, when it wasnt populated and the heat wasnt overbearing. The perfect time to cool down and relax.

Lighting

The lighting was all natural. The suns reflections at that time of day piercing the water made it seem brighter without the worry of a glare in the image.

Equipment

I used only a waterproof canon coolpix camera with built in photo filter ability. I enabled the mirror image feature and lined it up just right so that the reflection from the filter perfectly replaced the natural reflection causing a more in depth and defined reflection.

Inspiration

I was enjoying a family day at the lake abd playing in the sun. I was eager to get some cool photos to print and scrapbook with potentially. Ive always had a good eye for good photo moments.

Editing

This photo took no editing or processing once it was captured. This is 100% just snap shotted and uploaded.

In my camera bag

I do not have a handle on an equipment collection yet, but usually i have a digital camera and/or my smartphone.

Feedback

Never be afraid to play around with filter effects. Always try it and see how it looks. When i take a photo i look at it with every brightness and filter before i save it and see what i like the most.
