A baby Western Silvereye waiting for his parents to return home so he can take his first flying lesson.
In my garden I found a small nest in a shrub (there's actually 3 nests but two are old and no longer in use) sitting on a branch nearby was 3 tiny Silvereye baby birds. The parents were off gathering food for their babies and would return often, feed them and fly off again. This went on for a few hours. Come late afternoon the parents started flying lessons with them. The parents flew off with one bubba, leaving this one patiently perched on a palm leaf. The third was perched in a lattice fence, with his bum facing me. Not a photogenic moment for that one! The parents returned and after a few feather raising moments, the two remaining bubbies flew off.
It was beautiful to watch!!
