We reached this popular monument at 5.30 in the morning - well ahead of the sunrise time of 6.05 a.m. We stationed ourselves and fixed our cameras on the tripods guessing where approximately the sun would rise. We wanted to shoot the monument as a silhouette. However, as the sky started getting brighter, we were disappointed to see a thick cover of rain clouds all over the sky. Hoping against hopes, we persisted in remaining at the spot. Our patience paid and we got this breathtaking image as the sun rose and gave beautiful pink tint to the gaps in the clouds. The street lights were still on adding beauty to the image.
