Thank you! It was a beautiful foggy morning, I got lucky with this shot though, the sun was quickly burning the fog away.

Nice shot, perfect light angle choice and good balancing with dark.
Personally I would shot with a little bit lower altitude of the camera in order to see more the path between the trees. Anyway it's a beautiful picture!

Thank you. Very good point about the camera angle. It would have been very good to get lower, but I lost the sun spot through the branches if I changed position. Sometimes your choices are limited and you take what you can get.

Location
This was taken at a local lake and park where I live. There's an archery range to the right, and woods behind. I was out for a morning walk and it was very foggy. The sun burned through the fog and I grabbed this shot.Time
This was an early morning hike in the fog.Lighting
I had gone for an early morning hike at our local lake and park. It was very foggy when I arrived and I happened to be right by these pine trees when the fogged started to lift and the sun burned through the fog. The light hit just right through the trees and I grabbed this shot before the fog all dissipated.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5200 with a zoom lens at 42mm, ISO 100, f5, and 1/80 shutter speed. Hand held.Inspiration
The light caught my eye. The sun was burning the fog away and light was shining through the pine trees for only a few minutes. I thought I should grab some shots before the fog was all gone. Sometimes you find yourself just standing and enjoying the view, and don't take the photos until it's too late. I'm glad I captured this.Editing
I did do post-processing on this. I used Nikon' View NX-2 to increase contrast, and I increased brightness to intentionally blow out the highlights on the right side of the image. There is an archery range over there and I didn't like seeing the archery targets in the image, so simply increased brightness to over expose that part and blow it out.In my camera bag
This photo was take years ago when I had my Nikon D5200. Now, I have two cameras I shoot with. A Nikon D810, usually with a Nikon 18-35mm wide angle lens on it. And a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm lens on that. I have found that I use my D500 and 200-500mm lens 90% of the time I'm outside taking photos. The combination of crop sensor and 200-500mm lens even works very well for close-up shots of bugs. It works better than a macro lens because you don't have to get so close the bugs fly off.Feedback
My best advice is simply to get out, a lot, and have an adventure. Never go anywhere without your camera. You never know when that really great opportunity for a shot will come along.
