Behind The Lens

Location

Yosemite National Park in California

Time

Early afternoon

Lighting

The sky has a smokey overcast type of lighting because of surrounding wild fires.

Equipment

Nikon D810 with a 50mm lens, handheld. I was able to get up pretty close as the deer was scratching its antlers against the tree.

Inspiration

Sometimes I just like to go out and see whats out there. Some photos have inspirations while others are just being in the right place the right time.

Editing

Some minor adjustments in lightroom but nothing too intensive.

In my camera bag

I carry a nikon D810 and a Nikon N90s body in case i feel like shooting film. I have a couple of the newer Nikon lenses but I actually prefer the older style lenses with the aperture rings. I usually carry a 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm and a shotty little tripod I can stick in the mud and not care if it gets ruined.

Feedback

They say “the worse the weather the better the photo.”
