They were along a trail and scurried up the tree. Not sure who was scared the most.

Behind The Lens

Location

Out exploring a new trail at the Spillway in Linesville, PA. Decided to take a trail off the main trail. While walking down this trail, we heard noise in the brush and had no clue what it was. Next thing I know, there were 5 baby raccoons climbing up the tree. These 2 baby raccoons decided to pose for me up in the tree.

Time

This is my favorite picture! Always excited to try new trails and see what wildlife I can find. We (son and I) decided to head out after lunch to hike for several hours before heading back for supper. This picture was taken on July 21, 2015 in the afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting is natural and no editing was done to this picture.

Equipment

My camera is a Canon PowerShot SX520, which is your basic point and shoot camera. I had it set to auto, no flash. I use a monopod with this camera to help with the stability since the camera is light.

Inspiration

I am an outdoor girl; love hiking, nature, wildlife, etc. I always try to get raccoons at night, but getting them during the day is even better.

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

An extra battery, I never know how long I might be out hiking and looking for wildlife.

Feedback

Try new trails, be patient, quiet. You never know what you might find out there. When you do see wildlife, start snapping away.
