This image was created with a collection of 5 filters on a 24-70 lens ... 2 x screw in ND8 filters after finding one didn't give long enough shutter to smooth a rough sea, the rest were Cokin filters starting with a graduated ND to bring the sky brightness down and reduce contrast, a sunset graduated to clear filter to add colour to an otherwise boring sunset sky and finally a graduated sunset to light orange filter to give the entire frame an orange sunset glow ... way more effective and fun to find the combination of filters that work when you're in the field than spend hours in front of a screen trying to manipulate in image.
