Middle Island Warrnambool where a colony of Little Penguins were saved from complete annihilation from foxes by the introduction of a Maremma dog owned by a local chicken farmer. A Movie was made called Oddball (name of the Maremma dog) to tell the story of how a chicken farmer (Allan 'Swampy' Marsh) convinced local authorities to put Oddball on the Island to protect the Little Penguins. A great success story.
