Behind The Lens

Location

I had a flat in Edinburgh city. All the rooms had great tall windows, so although the sun wasn't always shinning (we are talking about Scotland here), there was still a lot of light. The lounge view gave onto a park, old cottages and further away, the Pentlands. High hills in the background growing or shrinking depending on the cloudy days. People walking their dogs in the park under the peering local eyes. My second floor flat offered a great 180 degree view, of a world sad people encountering.

Time

It was the time when people walk home from work. Everybody leaves at the same time, making the streets busy, until they all reach their households.

Lighting

I had no lights on in my lounge, just the natural day light coming in. Enough to have a nice bright line around the shape of my body and show off my old fashioned curtains.

Equipment

Manfrotto tripod Camera Canon 60D Takumar 35 mm No flash

Inspiration

I never get to see the back of my head.

Editing

It was originally too bright so had to soften the highlights and I added a little more vibrance.

In my camera bag

My bag is a mess, but I never leave without my 50mm and a canon 10-14mm. I like the contrast between those two lenses.
