Location
This photo was taken at Île St-Bernard in Châteauguay (Quebec)Time
As I recall, it was around 17h30, since this is the time the ''Hummingbirds'' show up to feed. This was my first good shot of this little bird and I was quite happy about it since I had tried many times without any success.Lighting
It was on a beautiful sunny day, so lighting was just great!Equipment
This photo was shot with a Canon 70D and a Canon 300mm - f/4 -L lense; no flash. I also used a tripod.Inspiration
I am only a beginner and still have alot to learn. I had tried several times to shoot these hummingbirds without any success. I happen to meet a friend that was present that day and told him I had no success in shooting ''Hummingbirds'', so he had me install my tripod and took a look at my settings and changed only one thing, which was quite important ''the speed''; so I began shooting and the results were quite good.Editing
I used Lightroom but just did the normal processing and nothing more.In my camera bag
Due to the fact that I mostly shoot birds, my camera and lense are always installed on my tripod. The only thing I carry is something to clean my lense.Feedback
My advice is, try and try and if you have no result, just ask somebody with more experience. In my case, I just don't let go until I know what I'm doing wrong. There is so much to learn about photography, there is no end to it, so just be patient, it's the secret. All my settings were good but the speed was not good, so that friend of mine told me and I can't thank him enough. Just be ''patient''!
