Location
Beautiful Western Australia, there's a town called Broome that is famous for it's sunsets on Cable Beach. I had just completed my own camel ride , dismounted and looked at my friends on the other camel train. They are in the middle waving as shadows. Loved the reflection in the wet sand too.Time
My favourite time to take photos is sunsets (not a morning person for sunrises) ! This photo was taken in April but being a tropical location the weather is is still hot and steamy in Autumn with colourful sunsets.Lighting
This beach has a very long ''out'' tide that helps with sand reflections as the sun sets. I tried to get down low to get a better angle. The ISO is 80 at F2.6.Equipment
Of my cameras , all I had was my hand held Panasonic DMC as it is light to carry when walking long distances on sand. It sure did the trick !Inspiration
All the tourist blogs about Cable beach recommend being there at sunset as it is very beautiful. The camel rides are conducted by a group of very professional camel handlers who love their animals. A delight !Editing
It is amazing how when you are snapping photos you don't realise how off level they can be. I corrected the horizon as having it an angle detracts from the scene. In my camera bag
Normally I have at least a couple of cameras and a few lenses, telephoto and pancake are amongst my favourites. My problems is weight of cameras and lenses (arthritis) so more recently I have an Olympus OMD 10 (mirrorless) with interchangeable lenses. I don't carry a tripod for that reason and just use what I can to get slow exposures, fences or whatever.Feedback
getting down low always helps with positioning the subjects in an image , especially when a sunset is concerned.
