Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel promenade in the evening.

Time

This was taken with a Nikon D810 sitting on the ledge you see here. As the D810 is a hefty one, carrying a tripod means slow me further down. I saw the sun setting at about 7pm and knew the light was awesome. With the camera perched, I press it on timer. The sunset isnt like this most of the time, so this was a special moment.

Lighting

I wanted the image to be not a long exposure, as too many of these photographs are taken these days. I decided to shoot in metered by matrix on aperture priority mode. So that the shutter speed capture the moving clouds sharp.

Equipment

Nikon D810, 1835mmG sitting on ledge.

Inspiration

A great sunset like this one has not been taken on the very famous location.

Editing

No, just contrast and levels.

In my camera bag

Nikon professional Full frame cameras, Nikon lenses in my Billingham Bag. My tripod is a Manfrotto 055CXProB4.

Feedback

Yes, get a seriously good camera and lens with great dynamic range and color depth. The Nikon and Canon full frame cameras are in mind.
