Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on highway 200 west of Dixon, MT about 20 miles.

Time

It’s been many years since this was taken, memory is a problem, but to my best guess between 10-11 o’clock in the morning.

Lighting

First and foremost I use slide film. To me I fine this level of film superior,it’s Pro Veliva iOS 200. I’m hoping to shot the photo while the clouds run over the terrain giving some life to the landscape along with the colour of nature in the foreground. Also the use of the gravel road and the gate inticing you to enter the property and find beauty yet to capture.

Equipment

Pentax K1000 / lens Pentax-A Zoom 1:4 70~200 / Tripod Slik compact. key- choice use a cable trigger to avoid shuttering.

Inspiration

Seeing the clouds shadowing over the high and low terrain in the distance and yet the foreground not being affected.

Editing

No I did not. I try to shot what the eyes see but that is very hard to accomplish.

In my camera bag

The camera along with 3 lens, Takumar-A 1:2.8 28mm / Pentax-A 1:2 50mm / Pentax~A Zoom 1:4 70~200mm

Feedback

Be patient, looking for the subject you are interested weather it’s water, landscape, people, buildings, clouds etc. Now days with digital cameras you can shot anything and if you don’t like it delete it. In the old days it was bracketing which was expensive if unhappy with the shot. Most of all enjoy it!;)
