Location
This photo was taken in Manila, Philippines at Ninoy Aquino International Airport as I made my transit to Singapore. It was in the wee hours of the morning, and there wasn't much time for stopping and enjoying the sights, but as I passed by a glass panel, this view caught my eye. The photo was taken on my smartphone due to the limited time available.Time
It was around 4-5 A.M. in the morning, having just gotten off a red-eye flight and having to make my way to the next departure gate. I was hardly awake, but seeing this was a completely refreshing wake up call for me.Lighting
This photo was taken indoors of a view of the sunrise, there was very little manipulation I could do with the limited equipment (smartphone) and time that I had. I had a couple of images taken, tweaking what I could of the exposure to ensure I caught as much of the sunrise as possible with the airplane being the focal point. It really creates a mood of a brand new day and everything just starting to move along.Equipment
I only had enough time to bring out my smartphone, an Asus Padfone 2.Inspiration
I guess the inspiration came with the view, it was so refreshing to me that it woke me up from the stupor of just having hopped off a red-eye flight as I mentioned. Often-times the inspiration comes with the moment, and this photo was taken exactly in that manner.Editing
No post processing was done on this photo. In my camera bag
As a barely amateur photographer, I travel with my Olympus E-PM1 (Micro 4/3) with a 14-42mm lens and 40-150mm lens along with a flash attachment. I always have my smartphone on hand too which is an Asus New Padfone Infinity which I've been using for the past year or so, it's proprietary camera application pretty much does what I need a smartphone camera to do and the hardware makes it take excellent photos.Feedback
A lot of people scoff at smartphone photography, but I've found that many people actually have more opportunities capturing great moments and excellent shots with the smartphone because it's just so accessible. Sure you can't play with manual focus, ISO, exposure and shutter speed, but we've been seeing a shift towards more manual photography with the smartphone.
