Behind The Lens

Location

Beautiful surroundings of the Castle Tuštanj in Slovenia (near Ljubljana).

Time

It was a beautiful day with a slight haze on June 14th, 2010 at 8:07:22 PM.

Lighting

Golden hour ... as I recall it. Trying to get a silhouette image with the sunny flares ...

Equipment

Camera: Nikon D300 Lens: Tamron DiII AF 18-250 / F:3.5-6.3 Fired (built-in) flash just to get more details out the silhouette (picture control was set on Vivid). Distance from subject about 7 meters (not sure!), on knees.

Inspiration

Inspiration came from the great artist & model Catherina Zavodnik. It was really productive and successful collaboration!

Editing

Not much ... saturation, contrast, colour correction and edge sharpening.

In my camera bag

Most of the time =) Camera: Nikon D300 Lenses: Tamron DiII SP 10-24 / F:3.5-4.5, Tamron DiII SP 17-50 / F 2.8, Tamron Di SP 90 / F:2.8

Feedback

I think the most important is timing ... and knowing the location. We had 3 days for this project. I remember that on second day, while waiting for 'thee golden hour', we did some very nice shots inside the castle. p.s.: Have lots of fun!!!
