Behind The Lens

Location

Back yard of our house in Spring Hill, TN

Time

5pm

Lighting

The sun was going down and peeking through the trees spreading beautiful light.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T5i Tamron 70-200mm

Inspiration

The boys were playing in the back yard with the hose and light was just right. So I ran and got my camera. This is just one of a series.

Editing

Yes, I used a Portrait Action on it as well as tweaking it in Raw

In my camera bag

Canon 85mm Tamron 70-200mm 2 kit lenses Yongnuo flash 5-in-1 reflector set Canon Rebel T5i Extra batteries and cards Battery charger Filters Remote trigger cable

Feedback

The time of day was critical to this shot. It allowed the sun to reflect off the water and create the stark white spray. It's important also to shoot at around 1/250 and higher to capture the movement without blur. I only ever shoot in manual mode and customize to the changing light constantly. Using actions can really enhance your pictures and is well worth learning to use.
