Rain was persistent that day. Thankfully, we found a small convenience store outside the pagoda. A black replica Adidas raincoat in stiff vinyl did the job. I recall smothering my camera in the jacket to avoid water seeping through the cervices. The floor was slippery and the disapproval of shoes in pagodas made this visit quite an experience. A mix of mud, cold graphite, and traction-less flooring disabled me to take many pictures outside.

I was fortunate enough to take this picture. It is a reminder of devotion. Even through rain and tough terrain, pilgrims and monks were in abundance.
