Location
This capture was taken at Moast point beach in Scatness, Shetland Isles. Shetland is the most northerly part of the UK and prone to some amazing colours throughout september.Time
The picture was shot around 7pm as the sun was beginning to set.Lighting
I tried to adjust the exposure to bring in the foreground but I lost part of the Orange that the sky was producing, so I adjusted the foreground in lightroom later to bring the shadows out of the seaweed.Equipment
Canon 600D with a Tamron 10-24mm lens, shot at 12mm.Inspiration
I could see during dinner time that the sky had the potential to turn into a nice hue and I grabbed my camera and headed down to the beach which is literally a 5 minute walk. As I got there, the orange appeared and with the seaweed in abundance, it made a great shot.Editing
I used lightroom to make the foreground more visible by adjusting the shadows and also sharpened the image. In my camera bag
I now work with a Canon 6D with various lenses. A Canon 16-35mm, 70-300mm L & a Tamron 28-300mm for travelling with. I also work with a 430 EZ flash and a Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
Go low. I kept in mind the rule of thirds and tried to adhere to it as much as possible without letting too much of the sky disappear out of the picture.
