This was really the luckiest shot of a falling star I've captured so far. Usually, I set my camera to shoot continuously and wait for a falling star to pass in front of me, but this shot I got a very bright fireball fall right where my camera was pointing while I was taking an 18 image panorama at Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park.
It was a two row panorama where each photo was taken at 24mm, f-2.8 ISO 6400 and only 10 second exposure. At 10 seconds it was extremely lucky for my shutter to be open right at that moment and in that direction, so I’m really happy about this image.
Ironically enough, I thought I was having an unlucky night since the milky way was being covered by the clouds and washed out by moonlight, but I ended up pretty happy about this shot.
