Surface Tension

The ripples in the water give a sense timing and rhythm. The framing of this shot includes reflections of the high rise buildings. This is to allow the viewer to approximate location and also gives the image a sense of balance. The high POV accentuates the unity of the rowers more so that the canoe itself. You can't help but draw comparisons to water bound insects found in nature. There's is harmony taking place. A unity of people working towards a common goal and doing so with grace and purpose! There is a sense of moving out of the shadows and into the light, signifying accomplishment or achievement of your goal. The warm tones of the reflections of the buildings are enhanced against the blue tones of the water. This instils a sense of ease!
