Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a lake near Edmonton, Alberta in Canada where I used to live like a year ago. I'm a self taught photographer whose gear was nothing more than a smart phone for almost six years. A very good friend of mine let me use his Nikon gear with which I was able to learn what a DSLR is and then I got my own within a year.

Time

I love solitude, It was some where around 07.00PM and I was walking along the bank of a lake and this chair caught my eyes as it would provide the best spot to sit down, relax, unwind and destress.

Lighting

Its the golden hour, the perfect time of dusk to shoot and the reflection adds more bliss to the overall frame.

Equipment

I love my Nikon D7100, its my first DSLR. the lens is a Tamron 18-270 F3.5-6.3 and nothing else more.

Inspiration

I am inspired by nature, sunrise and sunset intrigue me the most. I love solitude as one gets of listen to the Inner voice and discover him-Self in silence. This shot embodies both these elements which inspire me.

Editing

I usually do not do any kind of post processing. My mentor is Jason Lanier and I live by the rule ""Get it right on your camera, if you cant get a good shot then don't go for it"". I have done a bit of cropping that's pretty much all the post processing I've done.

In my camera bag

These days I'm learning to shoot into sun light with flash so I have been carrying around Nikon D7100, Micro Nikkor 40mm, Nikkor 50mm, Tamron 18-270mm, SB-600, SB-900, Remote Flash Trigger, 1 extra battery, 2 Tripods, 1 extra SD Card.

Feedback

I'm still in the process of learning so I'd love to hear from others.
