This was taken late in the afternoon, early evening. December 2012, I was there with my daughter and son finally having both my kids and me together for the holidays in quite a few years. So we were out exploring together. My daughter lived there, my son lived in Florida and I am from New Hampshire. At this time I was still more or less a beginner with DSLR's and photo editing. As I was looking for things to photograph I saw this building at the end of the pier and thought how lovely, looks like a lighthouse. I was very happy with this image.Lighting
As a beginner photographer when I took this photo, I did not catch the sky as it was and had to achieve that through post processing. I wanted to make sure the lighting reflected the sun setting with the beautiful orange, yellow and red tones that were in the sky that day.Equipment
No tripod, I had a Sony A300 at that time.and I believe the lens was a Tamron 28-300mm not flash, natural lighting.Inspiration
It looked like a lighthouse, I am not sure what the building is but the setting was quite lovely. With sun setting it really stood out and caught my eye.Editing
Yes I did a bit of post processing. As I was newer to photography, I did not get my settings correct in camera, so I had to bring the colors back out in Adobe Lightroom. In my camera bag
At that time was only two lenses I believe and my camera, the original kit lens and the 28-300mm Tamron lens I purchased.Feedback
Try different settings, I find underexposure really makes colors pop in the clouds during sunsets and not over doing the post processing where things are over saturated and unrealistic. Unless that is the feel you wanted, it is all about what your vision is, you are the artist, create your canvas and smile.
