The 'ahinahina or Haleakala Silversword (Argyroxiphium sandwicense subsp. macrocephalum) in full blooming glory. The silversword can live up to 60 years and only blooms once; this one will soon be dead. This subspecies is only found in Haleakala National Park and is listed as threatened on the endangered plant list.
