Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a visit to Fernandina Beach in Florida last summer.

Time

I took this photo around midday on a stroll down to the beach.

Lighting

Take advantage of the lighting you have, it will change quickly.

Equipment

Fujifilm Finepix S8600

Inspiration

I have always loved the ocean. Everything about it, the beaches, the shells, the sea life, the boats. I've always felt safe, happy and at peace when I'm near the water. So, obviously, whenever I'm neAR the ocean my camera is out and handy every chance I get!

Editing

Although, more often than not, landscape photography needs to be edited and processed this particular photo is completely raw.

In my camera bag

As I am still an amateur photographer and I do not currently posses the funds to upgrade, I am limited to my Fujifilm Finepix S8600 and Note 4 phone with a 16mp camera on it.

Feedback

The best peice of advice I can offer is to simply observe. Landscape and nature photography are unique. Nature is unpredictable, when you are capturing the world around you, you must be patient and willing to go with the flow. Take advantage of your lighting, it will change quickly. Experiment with different angles, clime trees and rocks, don't be afraid to get down on the ground. Explore!
