Location
This was taken in my home studio. I'm very lucky to have both a studio set up and a bedroom set up for intimate / boudoir style shotsTime
This shot was taken in the morning. The room faces East so the the streams though the windows in the morning, It's great. So much light in the mornings to play with give me loads of options on the shots.Lighting
The room has massive floor to Windows to the model's left which I control with the heavy curtains. This shot was taken closer to lunchtime so lots of light coming in. I had one speed light shooting through a small umbrella up high just to reduce the the shadows on the opposite sideEquipment
This was shot with my Nikon D800 handheld with a 24-70 F2.8 lens. Love that lens and really is my go to lens at the moment. I had a Nikon SB700 with a shoot through umbrella on manual and handy by not used was a small white reflector.Inspiration
I've shot with Nessie before and she has this look when she looks through her hair that I ink comes across very confident and sensual. Having her in just a man's shirt opens up this intimate side vulnerable side but her eyes to me says just the opposite, confidence right through.Editing
The photograph was shot in Raw and went through minor adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop then converted to black and white with Nik's Silver Effex Pro.In my camera bag
With my Nikon D800 I have a 50mm 1.8' my favourite 24-70mm F2.8, a 105mm F2.8. I carry a couple of Nikon SB700 speed lights and 3 PocketWizard FlexTT5s to control them. Oh and a Sekonic Flash Master L-358 light meter.Feedback
Don't be afraid to try a shot a fail. Every shot that doesn't quite work is a learning experience a stepping stone towards that one shot that make you smile and goes 'yes!'
