I wish my area had old abandoned places like this to shoot in. Do you generally need to get any type of permission to go into the building?

There aren't that many unfortunately. Maybe two or three places. Permission? Ummm, we may or may not be committing civil trespass when we take these photos but the general thoughts towards such things are simple. Take only photos and leave only footprints!
