Taken saturday 22st August 2015. Had this shoot in mind for a few months but had to wait for the heath to blossom. The sun is only just behind the treeline. Halfway the golden hour the clouds scattered ruining further shooting of the sunset.
Fun fact: The sound of insects buzzing got so loud, Ithink I returned a little less sane...

Location
This photo was taken in a little nature reserve in the north of Belgium called "Het Turnhouts Vennengebied". The exact place is called "Hoogmoerheide" wich translates roughly into " High swamp moorland".Time
This was taken during sunset at the end of august 2015, at the moment when the heath was blooming at it's best and the insects are at their loudest.Lighting
In this picture the sun is on the left of the image still peeking a bit through the treeline. The yellow haze you see isn't really a mist. It's more a kind of smog you see on really hot days like this was.Equipment
It was shot with a Canon 550D and kitlens and of course a tripod. It's a composite of 2 different exposures.Inspiration
At the time I decided I wanted to focus on landscape photography and started practicing harder. I just had a little girl then (july) so it was hard to find the time to go out and shoot but I still made the effort.Editing
Like I said it's a composite out of 2 exposures, one for the sky, one for the foreground. My workflow is based on luminosity mask and too expanded to explain here, but if you got a question don't hesitate to ask me.In my camera bag
The usual: camera, lenses, filters, tripod and a level.Feedback
Practice alot, read alot, watch a lot of youtube (or bought films: I can highly recommend Elia Locardi's films). And most importantly: get out there and go do it... you won't get it sitting on your ass.
