It was early in the morning when I left my lodge for a game drive in Phinda, KwaZulu-Natal. It was my second experience in a safari. We were aiming to see a Leopard that was roaring near our lodge at the night before when we suddenly saw a herd of elephants walking in direction to the pan. They were crossing the road with caution, concerned about our presence. One by one, I saw almost 30 elephants, including this mom with its little cub.
