Location
This photo was taken while I was holidaying in Mauritius, an Island off the coast of South Africa. There was a small jetty near where we were staying and I thought it looked like something out of a magazine, so it was only fair to take a picture of it. Trouble was dodging the sea urchins while swimming out there!Time
I waited just until it was on the verge of sunset, so the tone was mellower and there were more variants of blue in the sky. I would say I took this around 5:45 PM.Lighting
Once again, if you wait until sunset is about to happen, bits of the sky will be different shades of blue as the sun disappears behind the horizon.Equipment
I actually took this one with my durable and waterproof camera FinePix XP70. Yes, it is not the best quality compared to a Canon and etc, however I was looking to take underwater shots too at that time. Still an excellent camera though! No other equipment used.Inspiration
I was in Mauritius, and there were so many beautiful things I took photos of. If you look at my profile, nearly all the photos are from Mauritius. I think I was just inspired to take good photos. Good photos that I can look back on in years to come, because photos don't show you a glimpse of what happened in that moment in time, it tells stories.Editing
Nope, no editing or processing. I'm not a big fan of filters and processing; I find it/they take away the pureness of the photo. In my camera bag
Usually just my FinePix! There's literally no other equipment I use!Feedback
If you want to capture an image like this, make sure that the lighting is dim as it creates a nice mellow tone and adds a soft side to the intense blue of the water. I'd probably take the photo at a time of day where it is not too windy, however it is not flat, as sometimes with lighting it may look like ice or a frozen lake. Best tip of all; go crazy. Take as many photos as you can, and pick the best ones.
