Every year on the Memorial Day weekend, tens of thousands of motorcyclists converge on Washington DC for the bike rally known as Rolling Thunder. The bikes are mostly Harleys, and the bikers are mostly veterans. The prevailing theme involves the MIA's from the Vietnam War, the troops who were missing in action and never specifically accounted for. The rally is one way of insuring that those brave men are never forgotten. At the beginning of the ride, everyone gathers in the parking lot at the Pentagon, waiting for their turn in the well organized procession, which takes many hours to pass through the city from the Pentagon, across the Arlington Memorial Bridge into the District of Columbia, past the monuments on the National Mall, past the Capitol Building, finally ending near the Wall, as the Vietnam War Memorial is commonly known.
