Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the VanDusen Botanical Garden, I made use of the afternoon light from the back to illuminate the petals. I am an amateur photographer emphasis on the nature such as flora, fauna, landscapes, elements, etc.

Time

In the afternoon when the sum was at a lower angle, making it a good time for backlighting photography.

Lighting

Back light is eapecially terrific to colourful objects such as flowers. It brings out the vibrant colours of the flowers.

Equipment

I usually carry with me a very handy camera with enough zoom power (24-600mm) to catch anything I encounter. I have the Canon and Leica from super zoom to DSLR and mirroeless.

Inspiration

The great lights and the colour of the flower.

Editing

Some monor adjustments on contrast and saturation.

In my camera bag

A superzoom (24-600mm) compact, a mirrorless with 100mm Macro, and a ring flash. I seldom carry a tripod.

Feedback

Look at the lights surrounding you while walking on the trail in a garden. Look for soft lights and avoid direct and harsh sun light.
