when i came across this little chap i didn't know he was called a forest bug. he was pootling blithely along the pavement, unaware he was about to get trodden on. i rescued him and carried him on my sleeve to dalton square where there are green areas and a little beetle would be safer. this is him on the statue of queen victoria, looking beautiful against the verdigris

just me experimenting with black and white, the tulip is actually one of the black varieties so makes for a dramatic image
