Photo was taken during a Caribbean Festival parade. I shot this while two friends were surprised to see each other. The lady on the right told her friend "you are beautiful". I was lucky enough to be at the right moment.

Location
This photo was taken during the annual Caribana/Caribbean Carnival parade on August 2015 in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Caribana is one of the largest festival parade in North America with over a million people attending each year. I was lucky at that time to be at the middle of the parade with my camera. Plenty of music, bright colours, awesome costumes, floats and dancing people surrounding me. A very photo rich environment for an amateur photographer.Time
I took this photograph in the afternoon which I guess is around 2:00pm. It was that time when these girls were just standing and not moving much...a sort of rest time.Lighting
Natural light is the best. The lighting on this photo is all from natural light. The day was hot and sunny but in the afternoon clouds rolled in. The location was surrounded by trees which provided enough shade that helped block harsher light.Equipment
The camera used is the Canon Rebel SL1 with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. Camera was set at Aperture priority of f/5.7 and no flash. White balance set to cloudy.Inspiration
The main thing that attracted me to take the shot is the natural emotion flowing out from the two friends. I wanted to capture this great moment. With so many things happening simultaneously around me what caught my attention at first were the surprised screams followed by warm greetings from the two girls. They were so surprised to see each other and in this photograph the lady on the right is telling her smiling friend how beautiful she is. This is not a selfie nor models posing in a photo shoot. Everything was natural and true!! That`s why I love it!Editing
I take photos in raw format. To view and select the ones I like I use Lightroom. I converted the photograph to DNG format using Adobe DNG converter. From this point I employ Adobe Camera Raw to crop, adjust the exposure, clarity and vibrance. To make the photo pop even more I utilized a Photoshop plugin called Topaz Labs Adjust. I also used Topaz Adjust to sharpen the photograph. In my camera bag
My bag contains a Canon Rebel SL1 camera, a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, a Canon nifty-fifty, and a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto lens. I also have two spare batteries and five 32GB SD cards. Other stuff I carry with me are rubber bands, 2 plain plastic shower caps and cleaning cloth. Most of the time my shooting situation does not require a tripod.Feedback
You got to love photography, tirelessly explore the world and shoot a lot of photographs. Always have a camera with you. Nowadays everybody has a smartphone and advances in technology enables one to take good photos but a camera is still the best tool. I don't carry a DSLR everyday but I have a smaller compact Powershot G16 always with me.
