Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo from my home. I have lived on a farm since I was a kid and we would raise sheep. And this ram in the picture is Moe the first sheep we ever got and stuck around for 9 years. He acted like a puppy dog but in front of the camera he was a model.

Time

I am a photographer as a hobby of mine so one day I felt like taking pictures of the sheep and it happened to be a beautiful day for taking pictures in terms of lightning and the subjects acting towards close up photography. It was slightly overcast and bit muggy so The lightning was perfect. And the sheep because they were so hot stayed pretty still through out the duration of the shoot.

Lighting

The lighting given was just what the world decided to give me that day. I just happened to go out on a great day so the weather was really in my favour

Equipment

This was shot with my pretty basic Olympus SP800UZ. Nothing else

Inspiration

I really just wanted to take some nice shots of the sheep. My sister has taken some in the pst and I had been slightly jealous of that since my camera isn't as high a quality as hers. So when the photo was taken I was awe struck

Editing

I always try to achieve a sense of balance in my photos naturally without any assisted editing or processing- just like in this photo

In my camera bag

Because I am a beginner I do only have my Olympus SP800UZ

Feedback

Any photography with any animal is pretty spur of the moment and how active and skittish your subject is and you are. For this shot I probably stayed squatted for about 20 min being extremely still trying not to spook anyone. So patience is key to achieving any great animal shot
