This picture was taken while visiting family in Panama City Beach, Florida. It had rained earlier in the day and we decided to take a stroll on the beach that evening since it had cleared up, before we knew it we were witnessing one of the most Spectacular Sunsets that I'd ever seen. My Grandson was playing in the water so I had to capture him in some of my shots as well.

I didn't have anything planned out really with this photo, it just happened very naturally and spontaneously! Thank you so much for your thoughts!

Hi Michelle
This is s stunning capture of your subject silhouetted before a spectacular sunset. I think your subject is a boy who is actually looking towards the camera, but at first glance the impression I get is that he is gazing at the sunset. The perspective works well in either case. The central figure takes your eye directly towards the setting sun. There is just a touch of detail and highlight on the figure. He also casts a vague shadow in the water beneath him. Your light balance is good as it allows for these effects but remains soft enough so as not to be overpowering with too much contrast and highlight.. The hint of detail on the beach is also just enough. The perspective is good with angular lines of the shore, water, buildings and clouds leading the viewers eye to the subject and the setting sun. What appears to be distant landscape (although it could be cloud) is also interesting. Colour balance works well with red being dominant, whilst providing the distinctive touch of blue in the sky (right corner top) and a touch of cyan in the water. It all adds up to what is a very attractive image that is appealing to the eye.
