When I bought my first digital SLR camera several years ago I undertook an introductory photography workshop - the basic idea was to get the camera of the automatic mode and get a basic understanding of how a camera works. The person running the workshop made a point, that you should make use of whatever camera you have at hand - be it a phone camera, or in this case the camera in my iMac.
