I took this photo on the back deck of my home. seems every year now the robins are attempting to nest in the hanging flower baskets I buy for my mother on Mothers Day.Time
I honestly cannot recall the actual date or time but it was mid June around 1:00pm i did not have my camera date and time set correctlyLighting
it was just natural lighting. if i remember correctly the sun was actually pounding hard but i was under a deck roof witch was very dark. so the sun helped out a lot.Equipment
I currently have a canon 5d mark 3 and used a canon 100mm macro the shot was hand held.Inspiration
I love animals, wildlife, and scenic views. seeing these little ones on my back deck I had to go attempt a few shots.Editing

I Alway carry my Canon 5D mark3 with a battery grip, canon 100mm macro, cannon 70-200 2.8f with IS , cannon 28-135 usm, canon 50mm 1.4f usm. a few filters. I have a hoya moose's warm polarized filer for every lens. A speedlite 430ex flash.... I also have purchased a good quantity of new items I just saved up for now I just have to get out and use them... my bag is an AFAGphoto brand backpack I really like it a lot. I prefer Scandisk Extreme plus sdhc class 10 32gb chips and i only shoot RAW. New Items are a pretty good shutter cord, just purchased Aputure trigger master wireless flash system, a generic aftermarket ring flash, a Manfrotto 055 tripod its extremely solid. a manfrotto 681B mono pod and my new 15" macbook pro retina, along with light room 6. purchased this all in the last month after saving for the last 5 months I buy 80% of my items from B&H photo.Feedback
Im just going to say I'm about as amateur as it gets. I have always enjoyed taking photos but this last year I have decided to take the time to read a lot and learn as much as possible about photography. my only current advice is just get out there and do it. I will say the best way to capture robins nesting is to just have places for them to nest and the will practically put one anywhere rafters, door wreaths, hanging flower baskets that seem to be just under a slight cover of a roof.
