Location
This photo was taken in Casablanca, Morocco at the Hassan II Mosque.Time
After having spent some time in the Atlas Mountains, this was a final excursion before leaving Morocco. I remember that as a group we were tired, but so pleased to be there and sharing in the collective experience. We had been traveling down from the mountains all day and this was taken in the late afternoon, just as the sun was starting to think about setting.Lighting
*just as the sun was starting to think about setting*Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D3100, no flash, no tripod.Inspiration
This was actually an almost accidental shot! Focusing on others in the group and in the midst of catching some candid shots of people, this was taken quickly and because it was so bright, I wasn't able to click through to see the shots on the camera body at the time. It wasn't until later when I was reviewing the day's shoot that I found it.Editing
Not much post-processing. Slight adjustments for shadows and white balance, however all coloring is true to the natural shot.In my camera bag
I've always got my Nikon D3100 on me with three lenses, my standard 50mm, a 30mm, and my zoom. I shoot a lot of dance and the 30mm comes in handy there. I also normally have a few rolls of film and my Canon AE-1 with a 50mm, 28mm, and 35mm on hand.Feedback
Knowing the things that you are working on as an individual in your photography practice and then letting yourself play within that and make mistakes -- some of the best shots happen when you're not trying.
