whilst working on a commercial project that involved splashes, we captured one that looked like a fist and thought of pairing it with someone getting punched. when everyone else in the studio kept flinching away when water was flung at them, I decided to put myself on the spot and had an assistant fling water at me.

the water was lit with a broncolor bi tube bi cable head powered by a scoro 3200 watt powerpack for a short 1/8000th of a second flash duration, and i was lit with a beauty dish from camera left and upEquipment

the fist of water was an outtake from a commercial job and the moment it came up on screen we knew we had to pair it with a picture of someone getting punched, so when we had some time, we had a couple of people in the studio sit for a shot, where a small bucket of water was thrown at them, but they all turned away in anticipation! so in exasperation, i was like, i will pose and show you how its done and this was how i got this image, and yes i did yell each time :-)Editing
