Location
This photo was taken on my trip in China a while back. I am a self taught photographer so I am learning new things everyday.Time
This was taken in the middle of a typhoon, around 3 in the afternoon. I saw this flower swaying in the wind and the vibrant color and unique spike look just popped out so much. I knew I had to catch it on camera.Lighting
I really wanted the lighting to bring out the natural color of the flower. Since there was a typhoon going on, the afternoon was already looking pretty cloudy, but there was just enough light to draw out the exquisite flower.Equipment
This was shot on a canon 7D, with zooms lens 18-55. No tripod or flash was used.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of unique, beautiful flowers because it reminds me of how big and lovely the world is. The look and texture of the flower was so eye catching that I stopped in the middle of the road to take it!Editing
I didn't do any post-processing.In my camera bag
I usually have an extra battery, camera strap and lens in my bag. These are really the only things I need when I go on a camera adventure.Feedback
If you want to capture a picture like this, I would suggest taking the picture on a cloudy day because the light is just right to portray the main focus of the photograph. However, you can also edit it so that the background is darker, creating more focus on the center.
