Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken about four miles from home. We were out walking the dog as the sunset. My foster daughter and her boyfriend were behind me and when I turned to talk to them I saw the sky appeared yo be on fire. It took me a while to convince them to pose for me.

Time

This was early evening, just as the sun was setting.

Lighting

The early evening light was magnificent. Whatever I shot would have been dramatic.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon 7000, hand held.

Inspiration

I realised that with very little editing this was going to be a stunning silhouette.

Editing

I'm a bit of a purist so rarely do any editing on my pic. I just upped the shadow a few notches.

In my camera bag

I usually travel light, my camera with the kit lens and my trusty 300mm lens

Feedback

I find sunsets always look more dramatic through the lens than they actually are. Shoot a few and see for yourself.
