Behind The Lens

Location

I was laid in the field with our horses and Moira, the Friesian in the photo, came and stood over my head. Seemed a great perspective to get an unusual picture.

Time

It was probably afternoon. We had been shifting animals around and were taking a break at the end.

Lighting

Not really. It was a bright sunny day. Barely any clouds. We live to the North of Scotland, so it stays very light even at night. As you can tell, the sun was on her near side, meaning the sun was on its way to setting. Lit her up and showed the shine of her coat.

Equipment

Honestly, I took this picture on my flip phone.

Inspiration

It was a spur of the moment decision. She's a quiet horse, I was comfortable on the ground and she looked interesting at the time.

Editing

None. I uploaded it from my phone to my laptop and from there to Viewbug. I don't tend to edit any of my photos at all

In my camera bag

I tend to use whatever I have at the time. Usually my iPod touch or Nexus 9 as the quality is better. If not, my phone. If I'm planning photos, I tend to use a Canon camera.

Feedback

I'm a novice. I know very little about photography techniques. I would just say, keep something with a camera on you all the time and keep an eye out, because the picture might just come to you.
