Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at North Lake College in Irving Texas. I had taken my then High School age daughter there for a class and while she was taking it I took my camera and the 70-300 lens and had some fun shooting flowers, butterflies, ducks etc. It was a bit of a breezy day so the butterflies were not staying put long. This one came out particularly well.

Time

This would have been late morning.

Lighting

Bright Texas sunshine.

Equipment

D70, 70-300mm AFD, hand held.

Inspiration

I had just picked up the camera and wanted to use the time taking pictures instead of just sitting waiting for my daughter's class to be over.

Editing

No post processing. This is pretty much how it came out of the camera.

In my camera bag

Now I have upgraded to a Nikon D810. I generally have the 24-70mm AFS, the 70-200mm AFS, the 60mm micro, and a fisheye. Love the fisheye.

Feedback

Just go out and have fun shooting with what ever you have. The D70 is not considered all that good a camera but I have enlarged this photo to 20x30 inches and it is beautiful. The 70-300 AFD is not an expensive lens. It is what I had and I used it and got great results. Once I could afford to upgrade I did but I have thousands of photos taken with the D70 that I consider great.
