Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Crater Lake Oregon. The lake is in Crater Lake National Park.

Time

It was mid afternoon on a slightly rainy and light foggy day. The island is called Wizard Island. There is a second island very near the Crater Lake Lodge That island is called Phantom Ship Island.

Lighting

The lake is the deepest lake in the United States at 1,943 feet and the 9th deepest lake in the world. It rarely freezes over. The last time it froze over was in 1949. In 1985 they had a 95% freeze. Crater Lake was formed approximately 7,700 years ago when a 12,000 foot tall volcano, Mount Mazama ,collapsed after a major eruption. The eruption may have been the largest in North America in the past 640,0000 years. I got my information from the nps.gov and a flyer I received while I was there and the Crater Lake brochure. ( Sorry I typed this in the wrong area. I gave you the information about the lighting in the first question area. Sorry I mixed up things.) Hope you have enough information to use in the blog.

Equipment

My camera was a Sony cyber shot with a 20x optical zoom lens.

Inspiration

What inspired me. The overwhelming beauty and the vastness of size. There are thousands of Redwood trees in the park that makes me feel close to Nature. Nature is the most exciting thing when we choose to open our eyes and hearts to it's beauty. No man or woman can create what you see in our National Parks.

Editing

No post processing done. In fact I don't even know how to do that. I am an amateur.

In my camera bag

Just my camera in my pocket.

Feedback

The only advice I can give is take photos of what you love and enjoy.
