Thank you for the compliment! This car just happened to be in the right spot. I have several shots, this one is my favorite.

Location
On a road trip with my wife to Oklahoma City. She had several of her graphite pictures scanned for Giclees'. We passed this car on the way to the studio. We both noticed the car, they way it was parked, the old building behind it, the adverts on the far back wall, etc. You know something is begging to be photographed when two people notice an object and everything around it, then bring it up in conversation several times after the fact! After finding out this very well known studio ruined one of her drawings, frustrated, we gathered her art and headed out. On a trip to OKC, it's a requirement in the manual, to find a new restaurant and sample the cuisine and fermented grape juice. First we have to go find that car we passed this afternoon! So that long story to say.... On a trip not so often traveled to Oklahoma City, OK. We returned to the car sighting, knocked on the door to ask permission to ogle and photograph this hotrod.Time
Early evening in summer. The sun was indirect and deflected by large buildings.Lighting
No lighting equipment was used. Late summer day sunset.Equipment
Nikon D810 w/ battery grip, Nikon 16-35 F4 lens.Inspiration
As I mentioned above.... The setting was perfect and caught the eye of both my wife and I. Some things just yell out... "I'm waiting to be photographed!" This was one of those things!Editing
I don't normally add a lot of Post processing, but this one has a good bit in lightroom. The obvious is the outside part of the photo, which was converted to black and white. The windows were darkened, the red was enhanced. I removed an electric pole and line on the left side because it looked out of place. I tried to remove my reflection in the chrome where it was most obvious. In my camera bag
I always carry my gear with me, at least most of it. The list is: Nikon D810 w/battery grip, SB910 flash with Cactus poppers, Nikkor lenses: 16-35mm F4, 50mm , 70-200 F2.8 Vr1, 200-500 F5.6 VR. I keep two tripods and a vehicle window camera mount in the truck as well as binoculars & raingear.Feedback
In today's hustle bustle world it's imperative to slow down and check your shutter speed. Life will pass you by if you are always in a rush. I always try to add drive time to and from appointments so I can take the road less traveled and always have my camera within arms reach. When something catches your eye... stop and shoot it! or at least log the location and return when the light is right! Try to change your point of view. Get down and dirty on the ground! I was laying on my chest looking up at this car. If one shot is good 20 are better! Change your position and shoot again, especially if you are in a place where you can't return.
