Behind The Lens

Location

This picture is taken in my neighbors garden, in Chaltlang, Aizawl, Mizoram, India.

Time

While cleaning my car near mid day, i saw that pink rose pointed out from the blooming verbena. So, i take my camera from my car and took hundreds of shots. And this one became one of my favorite flower picture. It was the summer last year, 6th of July, 2015.

Lighting

Only natural light. But, the sun was nearly covered by clouds that day.

Equipment

This was shot with Nikon D5200, AFS 18-105 mm VR f3.5-5.6. No flash, no tripod or any other equipment has not been used.

Inspiration

I was looking for some colorful flowers to shot. I didn't expect to see in such a close distance from home. So, I love the color combination and the contrast. Then, i thought, "Life sometimes changes so fast, and new life emerge so quickly. When new thing come and go, the old ones being got forgotten in just a blink of an eye. This blossom tells me that life is just like a blooming flower that sometimes only last a day."

Editing

Yes, but only levels and curve.

In my camera bag

My 35mm 1.8G lens, lens cloth, my Nikon D5200 and my kit lens 18-105mm vr f3.5-5.6, my Digitek flash.

Feedback

If you are a nature lover and a landscape photographer, please do come visit my home state of Mizoram, in India. There are majestic mountain ranges that almost always green throughout the year. You can see beautiful orchids, countless beautiful wild flowers, some rare tropical bird that only live in the region, if you love snakes there is King cobra and more than 50 species identified, etc. etc... If you like insects, you can't even count how many species you could capture in just one day! Last but not least, the morning sunrise and the evening sun set is just spectacular. That you don't see often in other part of the globe.
