Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a hill. It is very quiet and dark here as it is some distance away from the city. The road going up to this place is actually very steep. It is not commonly used by ordinary people as there is nothing here, and we need a four-wheel drive to go up here due to the steep road.

Time

It was taken during midnight, somewhere around 2am in the morning.

Lighting

We use torchlight to light up the area.

Equipment

I was using Nikon D800, wide angle lens, tripod and a remote. Not using any flash.

Inspiration

Since I was a kid, I was always fascinated by the night sky and astrophotography.

Editing

Use lightroom for general editing of the photo

Feedback

please check whether the sky is clear. If it is cloudy, it is unlikely to capture the Milky Way. Also, you could use apps or refer experts what time is the best for shooting Milky on that particular month. The Milky Way is always moving, and can only be captured during certain months in a year. Also shoot it from somewhere without too much light pollution from the city.
