Out shooting a project on Detroit when I shot this. It wasn't until I developed and printed the image did I notice what was on the building. I did a bit of research about this particular area and what I found was interesting. It seems that back during the days of prohibition, there were some contributors known as the Sugar Gang or the Purple Gang that aided in the distribution of getting alcohol from Canada to Detroit and on it's way to Chicago. Could this have been one of their pit stops-storage warehouses? Maybe…maybe not.
